Hot Metal Bridge is open for submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art twice a year, from September 15th—December 1st and February 1st—March 15th. Guidelines for individual genres are listed below. Anything received by email or snail mail will not be considered. Please also contact us through Submittable to withdraw your work if it is accepted for publication elsewhere. We usually respond within three to four months and are, regretfully, not a paying market.

Hot Metal Bridge is committed to publishing writers and artists from diverse perspectives and experiences, and we especially encourage writers from marginalized communities to submit their work. Though we love University of Pittsburgh writers, we ask that former Hot Metal Bridge staff (readers, editors, etc.) refrain from submitting.
